NBA 2K21 Review (PS5): Is It Better Than PS4?

NBA 2K21 Review

NBA 2K21 has been upgraded for the brand-new generation of consoles and it’s the only sports simulation available on the PlayStation 5 for now. What new features and experiences does it bring? Is it better than PS4?

The game also feels more physical. Trying to bundle your way into the paint when you’re being boxed out by a 7’0″ beast-like Nikola Jokic is like attempting to run through a brick wall, while you now get much more realistic contact during dunk and layup opportunities when you’re at the rim.

The game’s animations are beginning to show their age, and there’s still work 2K Sports can do to emulate real basketball here. Obviously, this is already a very fluid game, but the enhanced visuals do highlight some weird or unusual animation transitions which detract from the overall illusion.

On top of the core gameplay that is still stellar, this version of the game reworked all of the player movement systems to best utilize the new consoles, while also introducing the new Impact Engine that helps to fix some collision errors of the past.

The big selling point for NBA 2K21 Next Generation is the next evolution of the game’s MyCAREER mode with the introduction of The City. Compared to The Neighborhood, the City is much larger in size and scale than before, which shows the potential of these next-generation platforms when compared to the limitations of the past.

The City also comes the return of the fan-favorite affiliations. Once you reach the Pro 1 level with your MyREP rating, you will get invited and have the chance to join one of four Affiliations. Each of these four Affiliations has a mayor in charge that is voted upon every six weeks in the game, which makes decisions about the Affiliation itself. Having Affiliations returns is a great move as a way to sell The City overall.

MyTeam, the franchise’s card-collecting mode, returns virtually unchanged – but the WNBA has been given a massive overhaul, with the addition of its own campaign called The W. This is a streamlined version of the MyPlayer mode, but it has many of the staples of a traditional sports game career mode, as you attempt to improve your player and simultaneously raise the profile of the female game. Of course, in ps5, you also need NBA 2K21 MT. can provide you with professional, quality, and cheap NBA 2K21 MT order service.

Franchise Mode

Franchise mode has been given a total overhaul, merging the MyLeague and MyGM modes of old to allow you to completely tailor the type of experience you want. You can turn on front office role-playing elements, shorten the season, import your own draft class – it’s entirely up to you how much or how little you want to do, and we really appreciate how all of the features and modes from the PS4 game have been streamlined.

The experience is completely transformed by the speed of the PS5, as games take little more than three seconds to load now, meaning you’re into the thick of the action fast.

Visual Concepts has maintained the core of how it wants its games to feel by bringing NBA 2K21 to the next generation. The game looks absolutely gorgeous. A good bit of assets was carried over and the gameplay feels improved, it offers a brand new experience in terms of how the game plays. The City is a bold design decision that ends up being extremely fun and will offer a different focus while the NBA gets through its short offseason. And with so many modes and features, as well as industry-leading presentation, there’s no doubt that 2K Sports is starting this generation off strong.

Through this NBA 2k21 review, you can fully understand the new improvements of NBA 2k21 in PS5. Also, for more game guides, please visit here.

NBA 2K21 Ratings: Top 20 Players Revealed

2K has released the first major player ratings update for NBA 2K21 on both current and next-gen platforms. This rating will increase as the season goes on. You can view the full list of top 20 current players in NBA 2K21 here.

NBA 2K21: Top-10 Rated Players

Rounding out the top ten players in NBA 2K21 is the usual crop of superstars:

• LeBron James – 98 OVR
• Giannis Antetokounmpo – 97 OVR
• Kawhi Leonard – 96 OVR
• James Harden – 96 OVR
• Kevin Durant – 96 OVR
• Anthony Davis – 95 OVR
• Damian Lillard – 95 OVR
• Stephen Curry – 95 OVR
• Luka Doncic – 94 OVR
• Jimmy Butler – 93 OVR

Rankings 1-4

The 35-year-old leads the ratings with a monstrous 98 rating. After being the second-highest rated player on last year’s game, an inspired playoff run and the Finals MVP trophy have pushed LeBron to the top. The jerseys might look questionable, but there are no questions raised on the rating, and King James deserves it fully after a solid campaign. If you want to get him on NBA 2K21 MyTeam, it will cost a lot of mt 2k21. Don’t worry! You can buy it from at reasonable prices, Fast delivery, 100% safe and 24/7 service.

Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo retains his 97 overall rating. He had another impressive regular season, winning his second consecutive MVP along with the DPOY trophy. But failure to replicate this into the playoffs meant that an increase was off the cards.

Kawhi Leonard drew a 96. He is always a dark horse for league MVP in his run of stellar superstar performances in recent years. Leonard is a two-time NBA Champion, two-time Finals MVP, and four-time NBA All-Star. But in the 2019-20 NBA season, while Leonard has improved in some areas, he’s also slowed down in others. Therefore, he retain his 96 OVR for NBA 2K21 ratings.

Similar to last year’s performance, James Harden finished as the top scorer in the league. But another poor playoff performance from the Rockets star means he doesn’t go beyond a 96 overall.

Ratings 5-7

Lakers star Anything Davis gets a mini bump, going from 94 to 95 overall. He had a stellar season at LA, winning the ring and finishing second in the DPOY voting. Lakers fans would certainly argue he deserves a 96 at least.

Returning from injury after a year, Kevin Durant’s rating takes a hit, going from 96 to 95. This is only due to him not playing, and there’s no doubt this will increase once he is back to his best.

Stephen Curry

Another star returning from an injury ridden season, Warriors’ Stephen Curry gets a 95 rating again. He just played five games last season, so didn’t have a chance to boost his ratings.

Rankings 8-10

This comes as a surprise, but cover star Damian Lillard has now been given a 95 rating as well. He had a good season, but putting him on par with Durant and Curry is outrageous.

Continuing with the overrated trend, we have Luka Doncic with a 94 rating. The 21-year-old had a fantastic sophomore season followed by impressive playoff displays. But a 94 still seems too high for him

Making a leap from 88 to 93, we have Heat star, Jimmy Butler. He led the team to the NBA Finals and had an incredible playoff run. But prior to that, his regular season wasn’t so great, so this big jump doesn’t feel right.

NBA 2K21: Second-tier Players

The second-tier players, who are still elite but not necessarily superstars, include:

• Joel Embiid: 91 OVR
• Jayson Tatum: 90 OVR
• Nikola Jokic: 90 OVR
• Karl-Anthony Towns: 90 OVR
• Kyrie Irving: 90 OVR
• Klay Thompson: 89 OVR
• Donovan Mitchell: 88 OVR
• Trae Young: 88 OVR
• Chris Paul: 88 OVR
• Paul George: 88 OVR
• Russell Westbrook: 88 OVR

Rankings 11-14

Joel Embiid’s 91 rating is identical to his final rating from the NBA 2K20 game, with a Build of a Paint Beast.

For Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, the 90 rating in NBA 2K21 is a feat for the young All-Star, and one of his few goals he planned on crossing off his list by the conclusion of the 2019-20 season.

Nikola Jokic

Nikola Jokic’s wide range of skills and few weaknesses will keep him at the top of centers in NBA 2K21, and despite some small decreases in his numbers, he’ll retain his 90 OVR rating.

Despite Karl-Anthony Towns’ occasional struggles against more physical big men and games missed this year, his production means he’ll rise up just a bit to match the 90 OVR mark of the other elite centers in NBA 2K21.

Rankings 15-17

Kyrie Irving was a 91 at the start of the 2019-20 season and has dipped to a 90 ahead of 2020-21 — which is the same grade Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum received.

The sharpshooting Thompson, who is coming off a torn ACL suffered during the 2019 NBA Finals, comes up just short at 89 overall.

All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell still was one of the standout performers in the bubble in Orlando, Fla. Mitchell averaged an NBA-leading 36.3 points over seven playoff games, but that was only good enough to increase his NBA 2K21 rating up by one point, to an 88 overall rating.

Rankings 18-21

Trae Young

Trae Young was a star for the Atlanta Hawks this past year. He averaged 29.6 points, 9.3 assists, and 4.3 rebounds in 60 games this season. He was recognized for that star talent with his latest NBA 2K21 rating. The latest basketball video game has given Young an 88 overall rating for the 2021 edition.

Chris Paul turned back the clock and dragged the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2020 NBA playoffs, he was rewarded with a ratings boost back into the high-80s club he’s spent so much time in throughout his career.

Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George, who was adamant on the preconceived notion that his ratings had fell, guessed his NBA 2K21 rating spot on at an 88, but he also gave a bold take on where he’d be by the end of the year.

Russell Westbrook starts the playoffs on injured reserve. His 27.2 PPG is his highest scoring output in the three years, but he hasn’t quite captured as many triple-doubles. He rated 88 OVR mark on 2K21.

These ratings will be updated in real time, and expect an official reveal for rookie ratings and some old faces from 2K before the end of the year.

Best Finishing Badges to Equip for Insane Dunks and Layups in NBA 2K21

When it comes to making your MyPlayer the best finisher on the court, you’ll want the best finishing badges in NBA 2K21 to put yourself over the top. In this guide, we introduce you to the best finishing badges that will allow you to take full advantage of your MyPLAYER build’s dunking and layup abilities in NBA 2K21, to maximize your player’s finishing abilities.

1. Contact Finisher (Hall of Fame)

Contact Finisher

Contact Finisher badge improves the ability to hit a contact layup as well as dunks in traffic.

Focused Attributes:

• Driving Dunk
• Standing Dunk
• Driving Layup

Best Played With:

• Fancy Footwork Badge
• Relentless Finisher Badge
• Slithery Finisher

This is by far one of the most essential finishing badges in the game. It increases the chance of your player successfully executing a contact dunk or layup in traffic. If your build’s finishing – a.k.a slashing – attributes are somewhere up in the 80s or higher, this badge will significantly improve your player’s effectiveness in this field.

The Hall of Fame level of this badge will allow your player to pull off the most vicious contact dunks, even against the best of defenders. When paired with the correct dunk and layup animations, Contact Finisher will take your player’s finishing skills to a whole new level.

2. Slithery Finisher (Hall of Fame)

Slithery Finisher

The Slithery Finisher badge will provide a boost to a player’s ability to avoid contact when driving to the rim in traffic.

Focused Attributes:

• Driving Dunk
• Driving Layup
• Speed
• Acceleration

Best Played With:

• Relentless Finisher
• Quick-Step
• Contact Finisher

Regardless of what type of guard build you may be used in NBA 2K21, Slithery Finisher is a vital badge to have in your arsenal as it drastically improves your player’s ability to avoid contact with defense in the paint when going for a dunk or layup.

When set to the Hall of Fame tier, this badge will make you breeze through the defense protecting the rim with ease, which will increase your odds of pulling off a dunk or layup.

Slithery Finisher is almost certainly the best finishing badge in NBA 2K21, and players should prioritize it heavily.

3. Pro Touch (Gold)

Pro Touch

The Pro Touch badge will provide an additional boost for having a good/perfect layup timing.

Focused Attributes:

• Driving Layup

Best Played With:

• Consistent Finisher
• Acrobat
• Giant Slayer

This is an important badge for upping your layup game, as it gives you an additional boost for well-timed layup attempts.

If you find it easy to time your layups correctly, the Gold tier of this badge will ensure that your layup efforts translate into easy points nearly every single time.

4. Acrobat (Gold)

The Acrobat badge will give you a boost inability to hit highly difficult layups. Difficult layups such as reverse, euro-step, half-spin layups receive a significant boost.

Focused Attributes:

• Driving Layup
• Speed
• Acceleration

Best Played With:

• Relentless Finisher Badge

If you’re a fan of performing fancy layups, such as the reverse layup or euro-step, then Acrobat is an absolute must-have badge for you. The Gold tier will see to it that all of your acrobatic layup attempts end up being a success.

We strongly recommend that you incorporate these acrobatic layups into your slashing routine, because most of the time, the defense in the paint does not expect that you go for a reverse layup – or any other acrobatic layup for that matter – so you will have the element of surprise at your side.

5. Consistent Finisher (Silver)

Consistent Finisher

A Consistent Finisher badge will reduce the penalty for a poorly release layup.

Focused Attributes:

• Driving Layup

Best Played With:

• Pro Touch Badge
• Acrobat Badge
• Giant Slayer Badge
• Relentless Finisher Badge

Another important badge for improving your layup skills, Consistent Finisher will aid your layup scoring efforts greatly as it allows you to score more consistently by reducing the penalty for badly timed layup attempts.

Given that extremely poor layup timing is not exactly the most frequent of occurrences for most NBA 2K21 players, we recommend setting this badge to Silver-tier only. There’s virtually no reason to go any higher than that unless you have a really hard time timing your layups, but even then we’d recommend practicing and getting a feel for your player’s layup animations before spending any additional upgrades on this badge.

6. Giant Slayer (Bronze)

Giant Slayer

The Giant Slayer badges boost the effectiveness of a layup over much taller defenders.

Focused Attributes:

• Driving Layup
• Driving Dunk

Best Played With:

• Contact Finisher
• Relentless Finisher
• Slithery Finisher

This badge can come in very handy for players who like making their guard builds shorter and more reliant on layups as it increases the efficiency of layups against taller defenders and reduces the odds of getting blocked and denied at the rim.

However, because the chances of your player going up against an enormous paint beast aren’t exactly a safe bet every single game, we recommend setting Giant Slayer to Bronze tier only. We find that this tier is just enough to make the badge do its magic, and still keep you set with a decent number of finishing badge upgrades that you can spend elsewhere.

Equipping with these finishing badges will improve your players’ layup and dunk abilities. Also, to view more badge guides, please visit here. Best WNBA MyPlayer player types in NBA 2K21 Next-Gen

Let’s take a look at the best WNBA MyPlayer player types in NBA 2K21 Next-Gen, broken down by position.

Offensive Threat

A safe build that boosts shooting ability might be the route to go early on. That’s why we’ve selected the Offensive Threat type as one of our favorite player types. Offensive Threat players will have good ball-handling, passing, and shooting attributes, and this type is versatile. Point guards, shooting guards, and small forwards can also use this type.

3-Level Scorer

3-Level Scorer does give a boost to all shots, regardless if it’s inside the paint, a mid-range jumper, or a three-point shot. On top of that, it’s also a type that can be used with all positions, making it even more versatile than the Offensive Threat archetype.

Slashing Playmaker and Point Forward

Slashing Playmaker and Slashing Point Forward builds are highly popular in the current-gen version of NBA 2K21, so it’s not much of a surprise that these two types (which we’ve combined since they have very similar attributes) made this list. Both types have good ball-handling and passing attributes, and finishing inside the paint is also a strong suit for this archetype.

The Sharpshooter player type can be used with all five positions on the court. This type will give players great attributes for mid-range and three-point shots, something that the 3-Level Scorer type, which is more balanced, doesn’t offer.

Post Scorer

Post Scorers, which can be either a power forward or a center, will be great at scoring with their backs facing the basket, meaning that you should get a much-needed boost when attempting a shot inside. If you want a tall, offensive-minded build, then try this type.

Lockdown Defender

The Lockdown Defender type should be perfect for players who want an extra step when guarding opposing players on the court, as those players will have great all-around defensive attributes. To make this type even better, all positions except centers can be given this type, making it highly versatile.

Who are the NBA 2K21 Next-Gen Renders that We Still Haven’t Seen?

The unveiling of NBA 2K21’s next-gen renders began a couple of weeks ago with the first gameplay blogs and the trailer. There were some ups (Steph Curry) and some downs (Jimmy Butler), but overall, 2K fans should be expecting a visual upgrade. Either way, there are still a few renderings that we haven’t looked at yet. Who are the NBA 2K21 Next-Gen Renders that We Still Haven’t Seen?

Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis‘s one of the highest-rated players in the game at a 96 overall, and one of the most recognizable stars in the league. The 6’10” center had the eyes of the NBA world on him when he made the switch from New Orleans to Los Angeles ahead of the 2020 campaign, and it’s safe to say, he’s lived up to the hype. Davis is averaging 26.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game for the Lakers as their quest towards a first NBA title since 2010.

We got a glimpse of him in one of the short videos released, but something tells me that wasn’t the most updated render. Davis had a much different look in the bubble with short braids and more facial hair. Which AD will show up in NBA 2K21 on next-gen launch day? We’ll have to find out.

LaMelo Ball

LaMelo Ball

All the potential rookies, easily the most exciting prospect is LaMelo Ball. The point guard is projected as a top pick, if not the very top pick, and will be a lot of fun to play with on the game. Thanks to his brother already playing in the NBA, and his outspoken father, LaMelo is already a well-known entity even before hitting the big leagues. Whether he lands in Minnesota with the first pick, or Charlotte with the third, (Golden State don’t need another point guard), Ball will almost instantly make his new team better, thanks to his size, speed, and much better shooting ability than his big brother Lonzo.

Ball hasn’t been drafted yet, but he is easily the most popular incoming rookie. He was already included in NBA 2K19’s MyTeam mode, so 2K already has a scan for him. Because of that, he should have a pretty strong render.

We’re likely just waiting for the NBA Draft so that we will know which team Ball will begin his career.

Ben Simmons

Ben Simmons

It has seemed like a quieter season for Ben Simmons this year, with a more talented lineup around him, but against the Pistons he served a reminder of his dominating ability. The point guard handled the Pistons and ran the game as he wanted. 16 points may not seem that amazing, but add it to 13 rebounds and a career-high 17 assists, and it becomes arguably his best performance of the year.

He’s flawed, but still, one of the most powerful NBA 2K players to control. That’s especially the case in MyTeam.

The Australian star’s render will be of major interest Down Under as well with stateside 2K fans.

Bol Bol

Bol Bol

Many analysts and NBA fans may not consider Bol Bol a Top 10 rookie prospect, but his skill set is incredible for a kid his size. Bol’s fall in the 2019 NBA Draft was entirely due to his injury he suffered and uncertainty surrounding his timetable to return. The Denver Nuggets were able to snag Bol in the middle to late part of the 2nd round. He’s a 7+ footer with great range and a guard skill set in terms of ball handling.

Bol’s length and diverse skill set have some people thinking he can be along the lines of Kristaps Porzingis. His distinct look, which is reminiscent of his legendary father Manute Bol, has played into his popularity. No player in the NBA looks like Bol, and his long and slender frame should stand out in 2K the same way it does in real life.

Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest athletes of all time, a legend on and off the court, and one of the most influential people of his generation.

Bryant’s life was lost in a tragic helicopter accident on January 26 and the NBA 2K community took it up to themselves to pay respects to the Black Mamba. Perhaps they don’t want to make money out of the image of a late legend, but if someone deserves this tribute that’s definitely Kobe.

Bryant is the cover athlete for the collector’s edition, which makes his render significant. The next-gen reveal of Bryant is also important because 2K hasn’t had the greatest or most-accurate render for The Mamba up to this point.

2K didn’t do anything to upgrade Bryant’s likeness for current-gen, but they will almost certainly go all out to capture him for next-gen consoles.

Next-Gen AI

Next-gen was an opportunity to reset on a lot of areas of gameplay. This was especially true when it came to artificial intelligence. And most have to do with transition defense and offense. In the blog, 2K makes a ton of promises about the next-gen version improving in these areas.

1. Defense

1). New switching logic update: Both on-ball and off-ball screen logic has been rewritten and the auto-switching logic was refined to reduce bad switching instances. So expect to see fewer cases of the AI calling for a switch without a screen and leaving a player open.

2). Adaptive Coaching Engine (ACE) now has the ability to recognize and adapt to different types of off-ball actions including Flare screens, Down screens, Back screens, and Handoffs.

3). Improved logic for CPU defenders to get in position to take charges.

4). Several improvements to transition defense.

5). Overhauled the Hedge defensive system for better screen positioning and angle targeting.

6). The player can now call for help defense by holding L1/LB instead of just calling for a double team.

7). Improved logic for defenders in avoiding each other when moving around obstacles. This works hand-in-hand with the off-ball movement changes I detailed in last week’s blog.

2. Offense

1). Next-Gen Game Planning: This is a great new feature that allows players and AI to have more specific game plans for their teams. The new system allows the AI to target a team’s best players. So for the Lakers, not only will they run pick & rolls, but you can have them run exclusively with LeBron and Anthony Davis. There’s a new game plan option in the pause menu. Here, players can select between 8 pre-selected game plans that they can access in-game through the On-The-Fly-Coaching panel (OTFC). Each game plan has default options already set up for them, so the player can pick a single option and have all the important details for that game plan ready to go.

2). Double team counterintelligence: You’ll see the AI using less movement and create more spacing for shooters spotting up behind the three-point line to punish excessive double teaming.

3). End of game logic: Improved the AI’s ability to time plays with the shot clock for buzzer-beater situations.

4). Starters and Bench Favorite Plays: This year we expanded the favorite plays to allow players to set up one group of plays for their starting unit and another group of plays for the bench units.

5). Moved player-specific plays and player-specific ball screens back to the L1/LB button. This was something many people were requesting so they could get quick access to icon pick control again. Favorite plays are now mapped to the DPAD.

6). Play and freelance flow: As we have done every year, the play and freelance offensive flow have been greatly improved moving to next-gen. There are several actions that we just had a hard time getting to run smoothly in past 2K games, but thanks to the logic upgrades and vastly improved motion engine, everything flows extremely well in NBA 2K21 for next-gen.

7). Fixed AI players accidentally positioning themselves out of bounds.

8). New pick & roll spacing: New spacing code gives some of our pick & roll and isolation sets that extra adjustment on dribble penetration. It’s much more solid now but expects continued expansion on this module as the year goes along with our in-season play and AI updates.

NBA 2K21 Next-Gen Improvements and Changes to Shooting, Dribbling and Passing

After the gameplay was revealed, 2K has started talking about the NBA 2K21 next-gen changes and improvements. There are shooting changes, dribbling, and more. Below I’ve listed some of the major details about NBA 2K21 next-gen improvements and changes.

NBA 2K21 Next-Gen

Pro Stick – Shooting

The Pro Stick and shooting mechanics have been some of the most interesting, and controversial, changes 2K has made in a while.

Well with next-gen they are taking things to all-new heights!

Shot Arc controlFor next-gen, the stick speed also now controls the arc of your jump shot. Slow flicks will give you extra high arcs, while fast flicks will make your shot flat. It feels really good to be able to have that extra bit of control over how you shoot, and also a lot of fun sitting in the practice gym chucking up rainbow 3’s.

You also get a small bonus for shooting with an ideal shot arc, so it’s important to be mindful of the tempo of your initial stick throw to make sure you give yourself the best chance at making the shot.
Bank Shot controlFast flicks (or slightly aiming in the direction of the backboard) will also allow you to control bank shots. This works for layups too. It may seem like a tiny detail but I love being able to control whether I drop a layup directly into the hoop vs. put it off the window. It’s a cool control that’s never been in a basketball game before!
Shot meterThe shot meter is also getting a new look and bigger role in the action. The new presentation is much more “readable,” really pops against various court floors, and no longer scales in world space (meaning it won’t be really small if you’re in a far away camera view.) We’ve added an arrowhead to the aiming and timing marker that makes it much easier to see the sweet spot as well. The shot meter’s make window is now blue and will grow and shrink dynamically based on how good the shooter is, the degree of difficulty of the shot, and how well it’s defended. For next-gen, if you miss the window completely, it means you’ll miss the shot.” To get that sweet green release, you’ll want to aim for the black notch in the middle of the make window.
Touch Around the RimLayup timing has been disabled by default in the new-gen version in the game. However, high-skilled players can enable this to provide full control over the timing and aiming when they drive to the net. Ths gives you a better chance at hitting a tougher layup if you execute it correctly, but you also run a higher risk of missing an easy shot if you don’t stick the landing.
Shot creatorsRevamped all of the off-dribble jumpers and added new signature packages for key players like LeBron James and Luka Doncic. These new packages are great weapons for shot creators. Pull-ups have been separated into two categories: controlled and high momentum. Controlled pull-ups set your feet better and are more balanced, while high-momentum ones (triggered by holding sprint) create more separation but are tougher to knock down.
3pt-line recognitionThanks to next-gen hardware and the added power the inverse kinematics and foot planting tech has been upgraded. Well jump shot gathers feel more grounded and there is much improved 3pt line recognition. Now your feet placement is adjusted in real time when you’re near the line to ensure that no longer happens.

Pro Stick – Dribbling

Ball handlers and dribbling gods should be very excited. Everything you’ve worked on with current-gen will be available on next-gen, but to an even greater degree.

Size-up Speed controlNext-gen has given us the opportunity to add an interesting feature to ball handling that we never had before: the ability to control the speed of your size-up moves based on how slowly or quickly you flick the Pro Stick. The speed of your flicks will see your ball-handler change through the gears and give defenders fits. A slow rock of the stick can be chained with a rapid move to catch them off guard! With new signature size-ups (hold RS up) and new signature escape moves, dribblers have a huge arsenal of combos to pull of in next-gen games.
SauceThere’s a whole lot of new signature dribble move content for next-gen. LeBron gets the suspended dribble that works oddly well in real life and James Harden gets a quicker between-legs sequence, among others. And if you check out the Stepback signature moves, you can now equip signature quick stops (performed by tapping L2/LT) as well as several new lateral stepbacks.
Park handlesPark dribble moves, now pulled off by clicking L3, are now tied to the Hall of Fame Tight Handles badge. So if you find yourself accidentally rolling on the floor while breaking down the defense in the park, try dropping Tight Handles down a tier.
Triple ThreatNBA 2K21’s triple threat game got some serious upgrades for next-gen. There’s a host of new moves and first step launches at your disposal. Hesitations, escapes, stepbacks, hard go’s and crosses… if you’ve seen it pulled off in the NBA, chances are you can pull it off in the game. And just like the size-ups, Pro Stick speed control works in the triple threat too. So you have full control of both the direction and speed of your rocker steps and jab fakes by how slowly or quickly you flick the stick.

Passing has also seen some upgrades. Ball physics has been reworked to improve bounce passes. The bounce location looks more accurate and the ball will respect spin and friction more realistically. To add to this, our physics improvements now allow players to throw bounce alley-oops like Curry did to Giannis in the All-Star game a couple years back. Alley-oops off the glass have also had a big improvement, and there is now bounce touch passing.

For playmakers, a new lead pass mechanic is also sure to give you better success on the court. Simply tapping Triangle/Y will lead a teammate to the hoop or around the perimeter. It will allow you to quickly feed a teammate that flashes to the hoop for a quick dunk. Holding the lead pass button works like the regular pass button now. Perfect for long outlet passes. Accuracy and transition into passes and catches are much smoother, and catch reliability is greatly improved. There’s also a new catch launch system for better response time and a smoother look.

Rajon Rondo has the same perimeter defensive rating as Anthony Davis (80), which is the same defensive rating as Luguentz Dort and is two points better than Alex Caruso’s defensive rating.

5). Anthony Davis has the best interior defensive rating in the game at 97 despite not having a top-10 block rating. JaVale McGee has a higher bock rating (94) than Davis (89) in NBA 2K21. Additionally, Davis is ranked second in help defensive IQ, only trailing Kawhi Leonard.
